SnipShip is a Chrome browser extension that crops courier label PDFs into 4×6 printer-ready files. This privacy policy explains what data is collected, where it goes, and your rights under UK GDPR.
The following data never leaves your device and is never sent to SnipShip or any server:
All PDF rendering and cropping is done locally inside the Chrome browser using JavaScript. No file upload occurs.
SnipShip stores the following in Chrome's local storage (chrome.storage.local). This data stays on your device and is not accessible to SnipShip as a remote read:
Our website and API are hosted by Netlify. License and trial records are stored in Supabase (EU / Ireland). Processors act under their Data Processing terms; agreements are available on request.
On first run (and later trial checks), the extension may send:
We also record when the trial API was last contacted and how many times it was contacted. This is used only to operate the trial fairly and to understand whether trials are being used (for example: never opened again vs still active). It does not include label contents or browsing history.
Legal basis: legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR) — preventing trial abuse and operating a fair free trial. Tracking is limited to technical identifiers and usage counters; label PDFs stay on-device.
When you activate or the extension checks your license key, it sends:
We store Install ID, first-seen and last-seen timestamps, and User-Agent for each device slot on a license (maximum 3 devices). Last-seen updates when the extension validates the license. This is necessary to enforce the device limit, prevent key sharing, and support refund disputes.
Legal basis: contract performance (Article 6(1)(b)) for validating paid access, and legitimate interests for abuse prevention and dispute support.
If you subscribe, payment is processed by Stripe. SnipShip receives from Stripe:
Stripe collects payment card details directly. SnipShip never sees or stores your card number. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/gb/privacy.
Your email address and subscription data are stored in our Supabase database, hosted in the EU (Ireland). This data is used only to validate and manage your license.
After payment, your license key is emailed to you using Resend, an email delivery service. Your email address is passed to Resend for this purpose only. Resend's privacy policy is at resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.
License records (including install/last-seen device slots) are retained for the duration of your subscription and for up to 2 years after expiry, for dispute resolution. Trial fingerprint and check counters are retained for up to 2 years after the trial expires, then deleted or anonymised. You may request deletion earlier by contacting us.
You have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, contact us via the support page and include “GDPR Request” in your message, plus the email used at purchase if relevant. We will respond within 30 days.
The SnipShip website (snipship.co.uk) does not set analytics or advertising cookies. When you go to pay, you are redirected to Stripe Hosted Checkout (checkout.stripe.com), which may set cookies for payment security and fraud prevention. See Stripe’s privacy policy and Stripe’s cookie policy.
If we make significant changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of SnipShip after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
